Missionary Retreat

This is the second year in a row, that we have had the privilege to go to missionary retreat.  Our retreat took place at Kaliko, a resort 1 hr north of Port au Prince.  We spent Thursday through Sunday, relaxing, spending time with our family and fellow missionaries, as well as being spiritually renewed. We truely enjoyed our time away from the stresses of everyday life.  The adults had classes every morning and evening, while the kids had VBS type activities. All of our afternoons were free!  We were blessed to be taught out of the book of Colassians, by an amazing, God-fearing pastor. We learned so much, and feel spiritually refreshed.

We had some gorgeous sunsets!

  1. So glad you were able to do this! It sounds like a time of refreshing for your whole family. I especially love the beautiful sunset pictures!

  2. Hello Yordy Family! So thankful you could get away & be spiritually, emotionally, & physically refreshed. It looks like a beautiful resort & the sunsets are truly painted by God! I just returned from CVE & it is always a convicting way to re-evaluate priorities & realize the prayer needs that you, as missionaries, have. We hope some day we can visit you with your folks. Steph has been to Haiti once, almost 20 years ago, & would like to come back. Neither of us have been to Jamaica but David & Kate are sponsoring a young man from there. He is in college in the US right & spent 5 weeks at their home during Christmas break. He’s deaf but reads lips well so we can communicate a little, especially through hugs & smiles! Jamaica is also on our “bucket list”, maybe after Steph retires.

Thanks for taking the time to keep up updated on your life in Haiti. We have your picture on our frig for daily reminders of prayers! Much love & many hugs are being sent your way.
