Bondye Bon!

Bondye bon is creole for ‘God is good.’  This last week has shown us that even in the midst of destruction, God is good.  When we think of the lives that God spared during the hurricane, we can’t help but know He is good!   Yes, there are houses without roofs, and Haitians that are hungry, but we still hear them saying the “Bondye Bon!”  What an example for us, to see their contenment in all situations. Yes, God is good!  These past 2 weeks make Romans 8:28 come alive in ways in a different way than we have ever known before!  “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”

Life for our family is slowly returning to somewhat of a “normal.”  Here are just a few evidences of God’s goodness in our lives.

The girls returned to school on Wednesday last week!

We celebrated Gabby’s 12th birthday!

We are thankful that Scott, Les, and Jon were able to restore power to our compound on Saturday!  God provided them strength and safety to complete the challenging job!

As we look around our compound, we can see the unpassable roads are beginning to look like roads again!!

And trees and bushes are budding and forming new leaves!  Check out these banana plants!

Our family was also able to return to Renault on Sunday!!  It was a joyous morning to reunite with a few of our  “special” friends, and see that they all survived the hurricane!

To end this update, we want to testify of Gods goodness to us over the last few weeks.  We also want to Thank you for your continued prayers. We need them, and Haiti needs them!
